In the Classroom

Engineering 3Our 2nd to 5th grade students have been busy learning all about the engineering design process.  After reading "Muncha! Muncha! Muncha!" by Candice Fleming, students identified the problem encountered by the main character in the story. They were then able to formulate the question, "What is Mr. MacGreely’s problem?" Students then worked together in groups to help the main character in the story solve his problem through four steps: imagining, designing, creating, and improving their original plan.  Students worked cooperatively and became engineers during this fun lesson.
